Buckerfield’s Head Office - Full-Time Payroll and Benefits Administrator – Wage Rate: $23 - $25 per hour

Location: 5410 Trans-Canada Highway, Duncan, BC, V9L 6W4

Buckerfield’s is seeking to hire a Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our knowledgeable team of employees at our Head Office location in Duncan, BC. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Full-Time Payroll and Benefits Administrator.

Position Overview:

As a Full-Time Payroll and Benefits Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll and administering employee benefits programs. You will be responsible for maintaining payroll records, processing payroll transactions, and addressing employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with HR and the finance team to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees, including salary and hourly workers
  • Maintain payroll records ensuring data integrity and the confidentiality of employee files in the payroll system
  • Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, and other benefits including RRSP’s
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits
  • Assist in the development and implementation of payroll and benefits policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations governing payroll and benefits administration
  • Collaborate with HR and the finance team to reconcile payroll and benefits accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Generate payroll reports and provide analysis as needed
  • Processing T4 and T4A Forms
  • Preparing and remitting source deductions and payroll tax

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in human resources, accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred)
  • Proven experience in payroll administration, preferably in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong understanding of payroll and benefits regulations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team and take initiative
  • Certification in payroll administration (e.g., PCP) is a plus
  • Able to meet deadlines

  • Attention to detail, excellent organisational and analytical skills
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
