Buckerfield’s Head Office – Purchasing & Inventory Administrator – Duncan, BC – Starting Salary: $52,000 to $55,000 per year

Buckerfield’s is seeking to hire a skilled and motivated professional to join our organization as a Purchasing and Inventory Administrator at our Head Office location in Duncan, BC. This role is ideally suited for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual who wants to expand their expertise and advance their career within inventory record keeping, retail product procurement, and office administration.

Position Overview:

As a full-time Purchasing and Inventory Administrator, you will support efficient procurement of goods and accuracy of inventory across all retail locations. Serving as the primary front-desk administrative representative at Buckerfields’ Head Office and working closely with the Purchasing Director, you will be responsible for the timely processing of purchase orders, maintaining inventory and cost data, supporting replenishment planning and inventory accuracy, and coordinating effectively with suppliers, distributors, and retail operations to ensure smooth and efficient business processes in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary front-desk reception and administrative support by managing telephone calls, visitors, communications, records, meetings, mail and office supplies to ensure a professional and efficient office environment
  • Prepare, issue and maintain purchase orders within internal ERP system
  • Track / follow up on purchase orders, discrepancies, delivery timelines, freight logistics, and order invoices
  • Process cost changes and ensure system pricing is up to date and accurate
  • Prepare internal inventory and sales data reports, and market trend analysis
  • Monitor stock levels, and assist with certain weekly product replenishment
  • Filter incoming item / product / vendor requests from internal and external sources
  • Act as a point of contact for inquiries from the store level

Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation and understanding of inventory, purchasing or supply chain support, along with a willingness to learn and grow within the role
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant administration experience is preferred (a combination of academic training and practical experience will be considered)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis, etc.)
  • Experience with ERP or inventory management systems (Business Central and Shopify experience will be considered an asset)

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Analytical skills with experience in data reporting and trend analysis
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Availability: 40 hours a week, minimum

Salary: $52,000 to $55,000 per year
